Cody,
That is an excellent system for parenting and the origins are right here in Colorado. The key to any system is consistency. It can work well for you if you have the right system and follow it consistently.
I've recently come across "Family Rules: Positive Parenting With A Purpose" which several of my clients are using. It is a very behavioral one but it is good in that you keep from getting exasperated with your child and you don't wind up using just time outs or grounding. The offense is quickly paid for and the family can move on. I can say more about it if anyone is interested.
